/> Chrysler, even though it isn’t the best economical situation, wants to keep its hardcore fans happy.

That’s why it has just revealed a new limited edition series, entitled the Mopar ’10 Challenger.

It is based on the capable Dodge Challenger R/T, and is equipped with basically all of the options you can get from the Mopar accessories and performance catalog.

The Mopar ’10 Challenger uses the same 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine, but it is now equipped with a hood venting system, cold air intake, unique engine cover and a front and strut-tower braces. No word yet if these mods will augment the power output, but the stock 372 HP isn’t that bad either.

On the outside, things like a darkened grille, black wheels, a functional hood vent and hood pins are available. All of the Mopar ’10 Challenger models will be decorated with the brilliant black clear coat, and a choice of either red, blue or silver decals.

For the interior, Chrysler and Mopar fitted Katzkin leather seats, special gear shifters, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and, as usual, a serialized plaque for each car.

Just 500 Mopar ’10 Challenger models will be built, so you’d better act fast if you want all this Mopar goodness sitting in your driveway. The automatic costs $38,000, including destination charges, while the manual costs $1,000 more.

<span

It seems that the 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 will see its 6.4-liter HEMI V8 develop around 480 HP and 460 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 55 HP and 40 lb-ft.

That’s not all, as Dodge will be partnering up with ZF to equip an eight-speed automatic gearbox into the 2011 Challenger SRT8.

The more tamed Challenger R/T will see its power levels remain the same, while the SE version will benefit from an upgraded Pentastar V6 unit, capable of 290 HP and 270 lb-ft of torque.

Changes will also be made across the lineup, as elements from the Charger, will make their way onto the Challenger, as well as an upgraded interior and an electronic power steering pump.

Bear in mind that none of these changes are confirmed, as of yet, by Chrysler, so we still need to wait a few months until the official unveil of the 2011 Dodge Challenger.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is being hailed as one of the most important supercar in recent times, combining cutting edge technology from Mercedes-Benz with massive power from its AMG division.

According to a report from Inside Line though, a lot of the credit should go to the Dodge Viper team, as it seems that the SLS AMG started life as a Viper replacement project at Chrysler’s Dodge.

It seems that a few years ago, the Dodge team knew a next generation Viper must be developed, so work had already started on an aluminum chassis and a new suspension system. Seeing as how Daimler still owned Chrysler, the Mercedes-Benz team decided to join in, in an effort to cut the development costs for MB’s own future supercar.

After Chrysler started suffering from the impending bankruptcy, the Dodge team was pulled by company execs from the project, which was handed over to Mercedes. As you all know, afterwards, Daimler washed its hands and got rid of Chrysler, which ended up with Fiat.

Now, as the SLS AMG is winning hearts left and right, the Dodge team is back at the drawing board, with a Viper replacement slated to appear around 2012.

This is still a rumor, at the moment, but considering the corporate intrigues that happened with Daimler Chrysler, we wouldn’t be too surprised if the SLS AMG did have American origins.

What do you think? Was Daimler capable of such a strategy? Share your thoughts below.

<span

This makes the ACR-X cost half as much as the dedicated Viper Competition Coupe, which is built from the ground up as a race car.

Hit the jump to check out this video.<br

Over time, this can lead to the insulation to peel off and a short circuit is possible. As you know, this can lead to a fire that can happen at any moment.

The models affected were manufactured between February and September 2007. Their owners will be notified of this recall and a free fix is available in dealerships. For more details, you can contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403.

It seems that unintended acceleration is at it again, prompting a recall from another carmaker besides Toyota. After opening up an investigation into sticking gas pedals for certain Chrysler models at the beginning of May, the NHTSA published its results and the Pentastar has started taking action.

As such, Chrysler has just announced that it will call back to dealerships 34,631 2007 Dodge Caliber and around 90 2007 Jeep Compass models due to a faulty acceleration pedal, made by CTS Corp, the same manufacturer responsible for the faulty pedals in Toyota models.

Still, the problem isn’t the same as on the Japanese cars, as a larger bearing housing now causes the accelerator pedals to stick and not return to a normal position. Chrysler insists that no incidents were reported and that among the cars recalled, only one third actually have a problem.

Customers are advised to get their models into dealerships in a timely manner for an investigation. If a problem with the gas pedal is found, it will be fixed free of charge.

unintended braking, now we have unintended movement.

It seems that the NHTSA has announced a new recall for around 40,000 Chrysler vehicles as the ignition system allows the key to be pulled out even if the car isn’t in Park. If this happens, the vehicle begins to move on its own, according to many complaints.

The vehicles in question include 2010 model year versions of the Chrysler 300, Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, Ram, Jeep Commander and the outgoing Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Owners should contact their local Chrysler dealership in order to get the cars fixed, free of charge.

<span
