Crazy Chinese speed blocks

Though we’re not questioning their use, usually we really hate speed bumps. However, seeing this, makes us really happy, realizing things could be much worse. These speed blocks were built by the authorities in the Chinese ShanXi province and, like the guys over at Carscoop say, those really look like miniature versions of the “Great Wall”: 30 meter (100 ft) long, 2.7 meter (9 ft) and 60 cm (2 ft) tall. Made from cement, these probably do decrease the number of pedestrians getting hit while crossing the street, but we don’t want to think how many drivers missed that and wrecked their cars.

I hope our beloved government here in the UK don’t catch wind of this method; if they do I can imagine them springing up all over the place!
