Mercedes announces SL 65 AMG 45th anniversary edition
Set to go on sale this September, the German automaker Mercedes-Benz have unveiled the 45th anniversary edition of the SL 65 AMG which is wearing a magno graphite paint, along with a carbon fiber trim on the spoilers and mirrors. The engine cover is made from carbon fiber and aluminum, while other highlights include the AMG wheels which have a titanium grey finish and a sports exhaust system.
Inside the cabin there are alloy pedals, matte carbon fiber trim and bespoke leather seats. We also notice the Airscarf seats, COMAND Online infotainment system and the Bang & Olufsen audio system. In addition, each of the 45 units will feature an individually number plaque.
At the heart of the Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG 45th Anniversary Edition is a V12 6.0-liter bi-turbo engine which pumps out 621 hp (630 PS / 463 kW) and a peak torque of 737 lb.-ft (1000 Nm). The engine is linked to an AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic gearbox that enables the rather heavy 4,300 lbs (1,950 kg) to do the 0-62 mph sprint in only 4 seconds, on its way to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). The car consumes 11.6 liters / 100 km and has CO2 emissions of 270 g/km.
