Not content with the stock 211 HP that the Volkswagen Golf GTI offers, and also not happy with waiting for the upcoming Golf R to be available on the market, German tuning house MTM (Motoren Technik Mayer) has just revealed a new performance and visual kit for the sixth generation of the Golf GTI.

Through some heavy tinkering and engine upgrades, the team managed to get the new Golf GTI to performance levels equal to the future Golf R, meaning figures around 270 HP and a torque of 400 Nm. The new, electronically limited maximum speed is now 265 km/h, and, according to MTM, the upgrades have in no way reduced the life span of the GTI’s 2-liter engine.

Other modifications include a new Brembo braking system which have eight-piston calipers around 380 mm discs and a new set of MTM Bimoto 19-inch rims, wrapped in Continenatl XL Sportcont tires. Overall, if you are very fond of the GTI and want to increase its performance, then you should really consider this package.
