Alfa Romeo isn’t in the best of situations right now, as its parent company, Fiat, ordered a financial review to see if the brand is profitable enough to justify its existence.
But given the new Alfa Romeo Giulietta hatchback model, I say money doesn’t matter. The car is gorgeous and exemplifies the essence of Alfa Romeo. Hopefully the audit will allow the brand to be kept alive, and continue to release cars which break the norm in terms of design.

Does it really look gorgeous, and capture the essence of Alfa? Hardly. It looks like a Subaru with hints of Mazda. Just with the Alfa corporate logo grafted onto the front. Alfa need to stop following. Start to lead…that is Alfa essence. People sooo want to love Alfa. Fiat is confused. It does not know what it wants Alfa to be. Get back to Alfa basics. Front WD is ok in a small platform, but if they want to be taken seriously, they have to go to RWD or AWD on their full size cars. Get back to solid, industry leading engineering (multiair is a start). Put some real power into their cars. Develop class leading dynamics. And bring back some good old fashioned rawness (not crudeness) that brings genuine driver involvement and satisfaction. ALfas are all about the heart and invoking the passion within.
