New details about the Varley evR450
The Australian company Varley Electric Vehicles has decided that the best way to celebrate its 125th years of existence would be turning its attention from the long history of golf-cart like utility vehicles to an electric supercar. Dubbed the evR450, the car made its debut back in October at the Australian Electric Vehicle Conference and now we have more information about it.
It seems that the green supercar will feature “Tritium Wavesculptor” motor controllers that the automaker says that will allow the car to achieve “ultimate efficiency”. It features electric motors developed by Ultramotive Technology and grabs the necessary powers from a 24-kWh lithium-ion battery.
Enough with the boring stuff. The Varley evR450 is “coming soon” and it will be able to do the 0-62 mph sprint in only 3.8 seconds, en route to a top speed of 112 mph (180 km/h). According to the automaker, the supercar will provide a range of up to 100 miles (160 km) and it needs 8 hours to get the batteries full.
The carmaker will also offer a very similar model, the evS450, which is a little bit slower (0-62 mph in 4.2 secs) and has a lower top speed (100 mph). The range is identical and it will be available for order starting with next month. Both models have been designed in Australia, the same place where they will be produced.
