  • Nissan GT-R FIA GT1 race car revealed

It’s been highly rumored that Nissan would soon introduce its successful GT-R model into the FIA GT1 competition, but now it has been confirmed by Nissan Motorsports International (NISMO) that a race car will be appearing from the Japanese company during the 2010 season.

The GT-R will be raced by two teams: Sumo Power GT Team from the UK and the Swiss Racing Team. The drivers have yet to be named, but the car is more than ready to take the fight to its European rivals. It will do so with the help of a 5.6-liter naturally aspirated VK56DE V8 engine, which develops 600 HP and 650 Nm of torque and sends it through a six-speed Ricardo transmission to the back wheels.

With cars from Ferrari, Aston Martin or Lamborghini, the FIA GT1 is shaping up to be one great competition.
