Suzuki CEO denies any deal between his company and Volkswagen

Lately in the automotive industry plenty of rumors have appeared about Volkswagen wanting to get in the Asian market, and as such plans to buy shares in a carmaker from that continent. While some rumors pegged the financially struggling Ssangyong to be the target, others focused on Suzuki.
The latter is pure make-believe, at least according to Osamu Suzuki, the CEO of the automaker, which released a statement about all of the speculations. “There’s a saying that there’s no smoke where there’s no fire, but you’re all creating smoke where there’s no fire in this case. There’s been nothing on this (Volkswagen ties) from our side.”
While it may seem pretty simple, one thing is for certain, Volkswagen does want to expand into the Asian continent, partly because of China, and will search for any viable target in order to do so. Do you have any suggestions for the German company? Leave a comment and discuss.
